The Whittier Union High School District has reached agreements with three employee unions for new three-year contracts. However, salary increases were settled only for the first year of each agreement, said district Superintendent Norman B. Eisen.

The contract with the 475-member Whittier Secondary Education Association will give teachers a 6.5% increase for the 1985-86 school year and will be retroactive to Sept. 1. Salaries for the lowest paid teachers will jump from $18,565 to $19,919, while salaries for the highest paid teachers--those with 24 years or more of experience--will climb from $34,386 to $37,129, Eisen said.

At the same time, the district’s 525 classified workers--clerks, custodians and cafeteria employees--agreed to a 4.75% salary increase. The pact for the California School Employees Association is retroactive to July 1.

And a new contract for the Whittier Adult Teachers Association raises salaries for its 56 members by 6.1% and is retroactive to Sept. 1.
