A reserve sheriff’s deputy who claimed he was injured while arresting Indianapolis Motor Speedway executive Mari Hulman George filed a damage lawsuit seeking $1.5 million.
Wilbert T. Tyler, a reserve lieutenant in the Marion County sheriff’s office, claimed Mrs. George, a Speedway vice president, kicked him in the face, causing multiple dental injuries, facial cuts and “extreme pain and suffering.”
Mrs. George was arrested May 7 at an Indianapolis restaurant and tavern and charged with battery on a policeman, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
