Celanese Corp.’s third-quarter profit rose 24% from a year earlier. The chemicals, fibers and specialty materials company said net income for the three months ended Sept. 30 totaled $47 million, compared to $38 million in the same period a year ago. However, sales declined 6% to $758 million from $806 million.
