Two men were indicted by a Los Angeles federal grand jury Friday and a third is being sought by federal authorities in connection with an alleged illegal weapons operation in Santa Ana.

Ronald Zorola and Michael Butler, both 32, were indicted in U. S. District Court on charges of felony possession of firearms, possession of unregistered firearms and possession of firearms without a serial number, according to a court clerk.

A third suspect, believed to be a machinist who produced or altered the weapons, is being sought in connection with a cache of illegal firearms that was seized by federal agents at a Santa Ana duplex on Oct. 18, according to Douglas Gray, a spokesman for the U. S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

Authorities know where the machinist works and lives, and could arrest him as early as Monday, Gray said. He refused to give additional details about the investigation.
