Formal dedication is scheduled Wednesday for the first office building to be completed at Ontario Center in Ontario, the four-story, 78,000-square-foot First Financial Center building.

Built on the site of the old Ontario Motor Speedway by Chevron Land & Development Co., the 673-acre development will have $25 million worth of additional development in the form of office buildings, restaurants and stores, according to Michael Kenney, Chevron Land marketing manager.

The new projects will be built in the Hotel, Office and Restaurant Plaza of the Ontario Center’s first quadrant of development adjacent to the San Bernardino (10) Freeway and bounded by Haven Avenue and G Street, he said. He added that the new projects will be adjacent to the 10-story Ontario Airport Hilton Hotel scheduled to open in February.

Among the projects are: Palm Brook Corporate Center by Kaylin Development Co., Newport Beach, with 72,000 square feet; The Ontario Restaurant Plaza by Albert Auer & Associates, with four restaurants and a 40,000-square-foot specialty mall and a 60,000-square-foot professional building by the Sickels Group, San Diego.

The curvilinear First Financial Center at Haven Avenue and G Street will house the Chevron’s Ontario Center operations. It was designed by Herbert Nadel, AIA & Partners, and was built as a joint venture between Chevron and Ted Dutton and George Voight of Ontario, and Berry Construction Co., Upland. The Berry firm is the general contractor. Coldwell Banker is the exclusive leasing agent for the new building.
