James Garner, Wife Honored for Work Against Oil Drilling

Actor James Garner and his wife, Lois, received the first “Save the Coast” award presented by No Oil Inc., a citizen group that has been fighting for 15 years against Occidental Petroleum’s plans to drill for oil between the beach and the bluffs of Pacific Palisades.
The Garners, long-time Westside residents, have been active in the No Oil movement. James Garner also stars in a 30-second television spot on No Oil’s behalf that will be distributed to all California TV stations for voluntary use as a public service announcement.
