Birth Control

Share

A controversy exists concerning the distribution of contraceptives and other forms of birth control to minors without the consent of their parents. Teen-agers who are not yet adults should be able to receive contraceptives without parental consent!

By issuing prescription birth control devices only to those teens who are adults, we increase the number of teen-age mothers. Teens often are alone with their decision to use birth control because they fear their parents’ reaction. So in order to reduce teen-age pregnancies all teens, regardless of age, should be allowed to be issued birth control devices without parental consent.

The United States holds the highest percentage for unplanned teen-age pregnancies, why continue to increase it by requiring parental consent to minors, who undoubtedly need the protection?
