Local News in Brief : Woman Crushed Under RTD Bus
A woman described as a Latina in her early 30s was killed Monday night in Granada Hills when she was crushed under the rear wheel of an RTD bus, Los Angeles police said.
The woman, who had been a passenger on the bus, got off at a stop on the northwest corner of Reseda Boulevard and Devonshire Street about 9 p.m., Officer George Willoth said.
After she got off, the woman apparently began walking toward the front of the vehicle, Willoth said. As the bus pulled away, the woman’s foot was run over by a rear wheel and she was dragged for several feet before the wheel ran over her chest, police said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Willoth said. Her identity was not immediately known.
