Household International named Edward G. Harshfield president and chief executive effective Jan. 1, when the current president and chief executive, William D. Hendry, will retire. Harshfield is currently senior executive vice president of the Prospect Heights, Ill.-based company, parent of Household Finance, Thermos and Vons supermarkets, among others.
