5A 20-year-old Hanford man was convicted of conspiring to kill his parents and soliciting their murder, but the jury deadlocked on the decision of first-degree murder. Kevin Yocum, 20, was instead convicted of second-degree murder after jurors could not agree on whether he had premeditated the murder of Ray and Gayle Yocum at their home in December, 1982. John Cox, 19, had already been convicted of first-degree murder as the trigger man in the killings.
