Top Philadelphia officials reiterated contradictions about key elements of the deadly battle with MOVE, with Mayor W. Wilson Goode insisting he was never told before the May 13 assault that explosives would be used. Goode also told an investigating commission he did not know a helicopter would be used to drop a bomb on the MOVE house but said he would not have vetoed that tactic. The commission ended its hearings and began considering its recommendations to Goode.
