Alburt Keeps U.S. Title

Lev Alburt of New York City retained his U.S. chess championship in the 1985 tournament that ended Wednesday night in Estes Park, Colo. Alburt lost only once while winning seven times in 13 games. Second place went to Joel Benjamin of New York City. Grandmaster Larry Christiansen of Pasadena tied for third.
