Residential Relocations Up in Quarter
Through June and July and continuing into August, relocation, particularly for corporate employee transfers, proceeded at a high rate, according to RELO/Inter-City Relocation Service, headquartered in Chicago.
Nationwide, the RELO network assisted about 15,900 individuals to find homes in new communities during those months, nearly a 4% increase over the 15,280 who planned transfers during the corresponding three months in 1984.
During all of 1984, the RELO network worked with about 70,000 relocating individuals and their families. The service contends that figures from the first eight months this year indicate that 1985 will be a banner year in relocation if mortgage interest remains at moderate levels.
