A court, ruling in a divorce case, has rejected an estranged wife’s request for financial compensation for the loss of her virginity.

The court granted the divorce Friday but awarded no damages, saying, “The loss of virginity in the framework of marriage cannot be judged a prejudice justifying reparation.”

The couple was married in July, 1984, and had no children.
