Datron Systems, a Simi Valley-based maker of communications systems used by the military, said it completed its acquisition of Escondido-based Trans World Communications for an undisclosed amount of cash and stock.

Trans World, which has annual sales of about $5 million and employs 70 people, makes long-range, high-frequency receivers and transmitters. Datron Chief Financial Officer Thomas Baker said Trans World is profitable, but would not elaborate.

Trans World is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Datron, which has annual sales of $18 million and employs 120 people.
