Microcomputer Memories Signs Deals in Foreign Markets Worth $7 Million

Microcomputer Memories, a Van Nuys-based disk drive maker, said it signed agreements worth $7 million in the next year for distributors to sell its products in eight foreign countries.

The company, which plans to move its headquarters to Chatsworth next month, said its disk drives will be distributed in Western Europe, Scandinavia, Australia and Mexico. The company’s disk drives are used in such products as IBM-compatible computers.

In the quarter ended Aug. 31, Microcomputer Memories lost $1.5 million on sales of $1.3 million. In the same quarter a year earlier, it lost $1 million on revenue of $78,544.
