Two men were killed when their 38-foot offshore powerboat disintegrated while racing over five-foot seas at about 80 m.p.h. just west of Key West, Fla., in the World Offshore Powerboat Championships.

Dick Fullam, 47, of West Springfield, Mass., was the driver of Still Crazy, an English-built aluminum Cougar catamaran. Mike Poppa, 39, of Sarasota, was serving as his crew.
