An MX Peacekeeper missile with four dummy warheads successfully flew 4,800 miles to Kwajalein Atoll in the Pacific after its second silo test-launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base, the Air Force announced. The launch marked the midpoint in 20 test launches for the MX, which eventually will carry 10 independently targetable warheads, Air Force spokeswoman Cecilia Mitchell said.
