Ford Motor Co. announced Wednesday the recall of about 252,000 of its 1984 and 1985 Tempo and Mercury Topaz models for possible problems with rear suspension bolts.

The cars will be inspected and, if necessary, bolts that attach the rear suspension control arms to the wheel spindles will be replaced, said John P. King, service manager of the company’s parts and service division.
