BEIRUT —
Church of England envoy Terry Waite, who is seeking the release of four Americans held hostage in Lebanon, said today that he had contacted their captors.
“We are in touch (with the kidnapers) in several different ways. Progress is being made, and we are moving forward,” he said. In renewing his plea for reporters to keep off his trail, Waite said, “A wrong move and people could lose their lives.”
