Britain’s Royal Family

Is there no end to the Anglophilic idolatry of an obsolete monarchy that contradicts all the values of our republic? We believe in a multiracial, multicultural society; the Windsors represent the opposite: one culture, one ethnicity, and one race.

We believe in talent and opportunity for all; the Crown represents heredity and a staid traditionalism, which is based on privilege and accident of birth.

I realize the Crown in England is supposed to have no real political influence, but in every way it represents the advantage of power and birth. We must remind ourselves as to who and what we are. Courtesy to visitors should not degenerate into a philistine idealization of what we do not honor.
