Microcomputer Memories laid off 75 employees.

The Van Nuys-based disk-drive company said it reduced its staff by 36% this week because it has begun producing a new line of computer memory equipment that can be manufactured with fewer workers. Microcomputer Memories said the dismissals allowed it to eliminate its 4 p.m. to midnight shift.
