Orange County Projects Honored

Twelve awards for meritorious achievement have been presented by the Orange County chapter, National Assn. of Industrial and Office Parks, in the organization’s first design and development competition.

Winners were announced from more than 80 entries at a dinner at the Irvine Marriott Hotel. Office and industrial projects in Orange County completed from 1980 through 1985 were eligible.

The awardees are:

Co-chairman of the event, which will be a continuing program of the Orange County chapter in future years, were W. Blair Armstrong, managing partner, O’Donnell, Brigham & Partners/Southern, and Dell DeRevere of De Revere Partnership. Chapter President Richard M. Ortwein, division president of the Koll Co., provided direction in organizing and structuring the competition.

Among the judges were Robert S. Harris, dean of the School of Architecture at USC; William S. Lewis Jr., senior vice president, Deems/Lewis & Partners, San Diego; Sharon Lee Polledri, development manager, Olympia & York California Equities Corp., and Robert Tyler, senior vice president and corporate director of design, Welton Becket Associates.

Sponsors of the program were Security Pacific Mortgage & Real Estate Services Inc., Newport Beach; Wells Fargo Bank, Beverly Hills, and Crocker Bank, Real Estate Industries Division, San Francisco.

Anthony Moiso, president and chief executive officer of Santa Margarita Co., was master of ceremonies and speaker at the awards dinner, attended by more than 600 people.
