Comarco Intends to Acquire Virginia Firm

Comarco Inc., an Anaheim-based supplier of computer services to the defense and aerospace industries, said Monday it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Decisions and Designs Inc., a privately held company in McClean, Va., that sells analytical software for use by high-level U.S. military officials.

It is Comarco’s second acquisition in the last two months. The company previously announced the purchase of SDL Corp. of San Jose, Calif.

Don Bailey, Comarco’s director of plans and administration, said both SDL Corp. and Decisions and Designs are involved in highly classified military operations and would pave the way for Comarco’s entry into that area.

Bailey said the software produced by both of the companies targeted for acquisition could be used in tandem with Comarco’s CAMPS (Computer Aided Mission Planning System) that helps U.S. military planes avoid enemy defenses.
