Rancho P.V. : Road Widening Funds OKd
The City Council tentatively agreed to contribute $20,000 in bikeway money to assist Rolling Hills Estates in widening almost half a mile of Highridge Road and improving the off-road bicycle path parallel to it. Full approval is expected if the city determines that using bikeway funds for road work is legal.
The portion of the road to be improved runs through both Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates, with most of it in Rolling Hills Estates. Officials said Rolling Hills Estates has agreed to pay all but the pavement costs of improving the Rancho Palos Verdes section.
Rolling Hills Estates City Manager Ray Taylor said the city hopes to complete the work by mid-1986.
