Ryerson PCAA Soccer Player of Year

University of Nevada Las Vegas forward Robbie Ryerson, who led the Rebels to the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. soccer championship, has been named PCAA Player of the Year in a vote of conference. Fresno State’s Jose Elgorriaga was chosen PCAA Coach of the Year.

The first team: goalie Chato Elgorriaga (Fresno); defenders Lewis Garcia (Cal State Fullerton), Ken Mays (Fresno) and Jim Voydat (Las Vegas); midfielders Sean Bullock (UC Irvine), Scott Chase (San Jose State), Mark Olejnik (Las Vegas) and Randy Prescott (Fresno), and forwards Rich Davies (Fullerton) and Michael Sanchez (UC Santa Barbara).

The second team: goalie Harry Fields (Las Vegas); defender Tom Gleason (Fresno); midfielders Rich Ryerson and Rob Taber (Las Vegas), Reid Thibodeau (Fullerton), Mark Masich (Fresno) and Nick Rotteveel (San Jose), and forwards Giulio Gnaulati (Fullerton), Ken Gunn (Irvine), Inge Ingason (San Jose) and Kevin Williams (Fresno).

Midfielders Zack Contreras (Pacific) and Don Edwards (Irvine) and defender Gary Soresman (Las Vegas) were honorable mention selections.
