Pacific 10 Commissioner Tom Hansen said he discounted reports that USC received information about Washington practice sessions before their game last Saturday.

“After discussing the incident with USC and Washington officials, I believe there was a misunderstanding between two assistant coaches caused by Washington’s belief its practice had been observed last week, and an offhand comment by a USC assistant coach which raised doubts on Washington’s part,” Hansen said.
