Inland Empire West’s second economic development conference will be held Jan. 23 at the Red Lion Inn in Ontario. The theme for the conference is “Empire,” emphasizing the area as a major marketplace buttressed by the growth of the Ontario International Airport.
Sponsored by development firms, brokerage concerns, financial institutions and title companies, the daylong event also will include as major sponsors the cities of Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana, according to chairman Jeffrey Sceranka of Barton Development Co.
Major speakers include Michael Vance, former Disneyland executive and a motivational speaker, and Dick Turpin, real estate editor of The Times, who will give an overview of the Southern California real estate market.
In addition to his keynote address at the Jan. 23 conference, Vance will also conduct a series of six-hour seminars in Fontana, Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga on Jan. 15, 16 and 17. Registration information for the $50 conference (the price includes a lunch) can be obtained from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, 123 W. D St., Ontario 91761. Registration begins at 8 a.m.
