Polish Doctors Charged in Deaths of 6 Babies
A Polish doctor was charged with unintentional manslaughter and her superior with negligence after the deaths of six babies given injections for jaundice, the official PAP news agency reported Wednesday.
Last August, eleven newly born infants in Wloclawek were injected with a solution of glucose and albumin that had been kept in the open for more than 12 hours instead of the prescribed four. Six infants later died.
The doctor, a deputy ward head, faces up to five years in prison and her superior, also a doctor, may be jailed for two years.
