Vodka Campaign Given Credit for Crime Drop

MOSCOW —
An official Soviet campaign against vodka abuse brought a 10.4% drop in serious crime between July and October, the first deputy chairman of the Soviet Supreme Court said Friday.
In the first nine months of this year, the rate of serious crime fell by 4% compared with 1984 levels, the official said.
