Fred Sands to Be Honored as Top Realtor

Fred Sands will be honored as 1985 Realtor of the Year at the Beverly Hills Board of Realtors’ annual installation banquet Friday at the Beverly Hilton.

Sands is also outgoing president of the board. He is being succeeded by Wilma Sullivan.

George Konheim will receive the 1985 Citizen of the Year award, and Bob Dalton will be named 1985 Realtor-Associate of the Year. Konheim, president of Buckeye Construction Co., is being recognized for “countless hours to a variety of issues.” Dalton is associated with Jon Douglas Co.

Sands is head of his own real estate firm, which has 30 offices in Southern California. He was also recognized this fall with the “Rabbi Edgar F. Magnin God and Country Exemplar Award” by the Los Angeles Area Council of the Boy Scouts for achievement in community service. The Realtor-of-the-Year Award is given by the Beverly Hills Board of Realtors for outstanding achievement in ethics, integrity, cooperation, board activity and professional stature.

Other officers besides Sullivan to be installed include Jeff Hyland, first vice president; Betty Lethe, second vice president, and Marv Silverman, treasurer. Tricia Moore is secretary and executive vice president.
