Fun Way at Cambridge

Jerry Payne’s article brought back wonderful memories of the summer I spent at Cambridge. It combined stimulating subject matter with delightful and unforgettable experiences.

I was fortunate enough to have studied Winston Churchill under professor John Charmley. He was not the typical stuffy professor one pictures but instead a breath of fresh air, combining humor, sensitivity and amazing intelligence. He taught me more in three weeks than I have learned in an entire semester at school.

There were many opportunities to travel on the weekends, and all excursions were well-organized and led by professors. Whatever one’s definition of a good time might be, he or she can find it by spending several weeks at Cambridge. Thank you, dear Jerry Payne, for reminding me of a wonderful summer in England.
