A Loss to a Drunk Driver

Share

Re Alma Hennigan (Letters in View, Nov. 21): I cried with her because our family, too, lost a beautiful alive person only because of a young man who was drunk and speeding. My beautiful niece Deanne, having had a 25th birthday a few months prior to Easter Sunday, 1984, was taken from us that morning in Palm Springs. She was an elementary school teacher in the Palmdale area and a good many of “her” children came to bid her adieu.

She, like Patty Neil, will live on in the memories of those who knew her.

But we must fight this common illness of drunkenness and it is most important that people join the MADD group. These Mothers Against Drunk Drivers are trying so hard in their fight to keep drunkards off the road.

If you must drink, please, we all beg, don’t drive.
