Briton Mike McLeod, the silver medalist in the 10,000 meters in the L.A. Olympic Games, won the 61st Jean Bouin race before an crowd estimated at 100,000 at Barcelona, Spain.

He covered the 9,500-meter race around the Montjuic circuit in 26 minutes 6 seconds. Two Spaniards, Jose Luis Gonzalez and Abel Anton, were second and third, a respective two seconds and five seconds behind the winner.
