A coalition of churches announced plans to build a shelter to help house homeless families in the Hollywood area. The group called CHIP-In (Community of Hollywood Investing in People in Need) is composed of 40 Hollywood churches, synagogues and social agencies. Rabbi Gilbert Kollin, president of the group, said the aim is to raise the funds needed to purchase a hotel that would be turned into the shelter.
