ESI Industries Inc. said it will sell $4 million worth of video lottery machines to a charitable organization based in Brisbane, Australia. The Costa Mesa-based designer and maker of lottery equipment said delivery of the 1,000 machines will begin in January.

ESI said the Australian charity, the Queensland Spastic Welfare League (cq), will use the machines in a lottery it operates throughout the state of Queensland. The display on the screens of the video machines simulates the tearing open of an instant lottery ticket, telling the purchaser if and how much he or she won. ESI said the league has indicated interest in purchasing another 1,000 machines.
