Cigarette Case Rushed to Trial?

SANTA BARBARA —
The judge in a cigarette-linked wrongful death suit said today he believes that attorney Melvin Belli and his colleague rushed the case to trial without proper preparation.
Superior Court Judge Bruce Dodds made the comments to Belli associate Paul Monzione during an angry exchange at a hearing on ground rules for testimony by a key plaintiffs’ witness.
