Faulty Rod Shuts Reactor

PHOENIX —
A faulty control rod was responsible for the overnight shutdown of the Unit 1 reactor at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, plant spokesman Brad Parker said Thursday. “It was a simple shutdown and easy to fix,” he said.
