Chinese Shelling Reported

BANGKOK, Thailand —
Vietnam accused Chinese troops Friday of firing heavy artillery barrages into Vietnamese territory this week, causing serious losses to villagers. Radio Hanoi, monitored in Bangkok, said Chinese guns rained 24,700 artillery shells on 19 areas in the border district of Vi Xuyen in Ha Tuyen province Tuesday and Wednesday.
