Strike Idles Beirut Airport

BEIRUT —
Cockpit crews of Lebanon’s national carrier, Middle East Airlines, began a 24-hour strike Saturday to support colleagues working for the all-cargo Trans Mediterranean Airways who have been grounded for five months over a pay dispute.
The strike paralyzed Lebanon’s only commercial airport, which has been boycotted by U.S. and many other foreign airlines.
