Aniello Dellacroce, a reputed Mafia boss who died in his sleep last week at 71, was an FBI informant for nearly 20 years, helping authorities try to solve the disappearence of Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa, Time magazine reported. Dellacroce led a double life, serving as an underboss of the powerful New York-based Gambino clan, and a member and chief enforcer for the “Commission,” an 11-man council that reputedly oversees all U.S. underworld activities, the magazine said. Dellacroce occasionally traveled around the country disguised as a priest, imposing Mafia edicts and settling disputes between rival clans, it said.
