Creative Computer Shows a Profit After a Loss in ’84

Creative Computer Applications reported a profit of $147,310, or 2 cents a share, in its fiscal year ended Aug. 31 as sales increased 106% to $4.2 million.

The profit for the Calabasas-based company, which designs and sells computer equipment and software used by medical laboratories, is up from a loss of $547,272, or 8 cents a share, in the previous year.

Creative Computer said that $46,200 of the year’s profit was attributable to tax-loss carry-forwards, which allow a company to deduct the previous year’s losses from taxable income.
