Police in Chicago were looking for two men who stole one of two specially made 50-pound Chicago Bears helmets adorning the bronze lions outside the city’s Art Institute.
“We have not yet made a decision on whether the helmets will be replaced,” a spokesman for the Art Institute said. “We have a lot to think about. We think it’s unfortunate that people could be so mean-spirited during the holiday season.”
An earlier attempt to steal the helmets failed when security guards apprehended thieves in the act.
