Investors who won a jury verdict threatening the Millard family’s control of the ComputerLand retail empire said there has been “a major breakthrough” in efforts to settle the case out of court. The investors’ attorney, Herbert Hafif, and Barbara Millard, daughter of ComputerLand owner William H. Millard, will announce the settlement of “a major part” of the litigation Thursday, one day before a deadline for Millard to post a $25-million bond in order to appeal the case.
