Man Who Killed Ill Wife to Do Community Work

SEATTLE —
An 85-year-old man who shot and killed his seriously ill wife was sentenced Tuesday to a year of community service at a food bank.
Albert J. Fiala Sr. pleaded guilty Oct. 10 to a charge of second-degree murder. His wife, Anna, 79, was suffering from cancer and diabetes when she was shot in the head at the couple’s home on Aug 10. Her husband was arrested at the scene.
