Lockheed Chief New Head of L.A. Chamber

Lockheed Chairman Roy A. Anderson has been elected 1986 chairman of the 2,800-member Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. He replaces David E. Anderson, president of General Telephone, whose term is ending.

Thomas P. Kemp, president of Beatrice Cos.’ grocery group, was elected first vice president, while Charles D. Million, chairman and chief executive of Avery International, was elected second vice president.

The chamber elected several new directors. They are: J. Nicholas Counter III, president of the Alliance of Motion Picture and TV Producers; Suzanne DePasse, president of Motown Productions; Ray R. Irani, president and chief operating officer of Occidental Petroleum; Thomas L. Lee, president of Newhall Land & Farming; Robert F. Maguire, co-managing partner of Maguire Thomas Partners; James S. Morrison, executive vice president of Atlantic Richfield; Owen F. Murphy, regional vice president of Chevron U.S.A.; Thomas H. Nielsen, president of Irvine Co.; Alan Questrom, chairman of Bullock’s; Frank Sanchez, a McDonald’s franchisee; Betty Sanders, vice president and general manager of the Nordstrom Southern California division; William D. Schulte, managing partner of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co.; Donald H. White, president of Hughes Aircraft, and John A. Wright, executive vice president of Fluor Corp.
