Police are investigating the theft of nearly $50,000 worth of valuables from the home of Al Holland, a relief pitcher for the Angels last season.

Holland and his wife, Mary, were not in their Camden County home when thieves entered their house on Dec. 2 and took jewelry, television sets and a videocassette recorder, police said.

Police said the missing items, valued at $49,800, included Holland’s World Series ring (with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1983), a 1984 All-Star ring and a relief-pitcher award ring.
