Mass Slated for Jail: The Catholic Diocese of Orange has announced that Bishop William R. Johnson will once again celebrate Christmas morning Mass in the men’s section of the Orange County Jail. Bishop Johnson has performed the Christmas Mass for male prisoners every year since he became the diocese’s first bishop in 1976. The bishop will be accompanied by a choir of seminary students who will provide music for the 9 a.m. event. The Most Rev. John T. Steinbock, auxiliary bishop of Orange, will celebrate Mass in honor of the Holy Family at 9 a.m. Dec. 29 for women prisoners at the jail.
