Three young Vallejo men were convicted of second-degree murder in the death last year of a gay San Francisco man. A San Francisco Superior Court jury found Timothy White, 23, and David Rogers and Donald Clanton, both 20, guilty in the death of John O’Connell in July, 1984. O’Connell, 40, fell and hit his head on the curb after he was struck from behind and died four days later. A fourth defendant, Douglas Barr, 20, also of Vallejo, was found innocent. White, Rogers and Clanton face up to 15 years to life in prison. Sentencing has been set for Jan. 9.
