The state Board of Prison Terms announced today that it will give convicted assassin Sirhan Sirhan, the killer of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, another chance to bid for his freedom, as early as next March.

Gilbert Saucedo, board executive officer, said the nine-member board decided to grant Sirhan a hearing following an administrative appeal by his lawyer. He said board members agreed that parole officers were “not in compliance with the law” when they denied Sirhan parole at a brief hearing last June and told him he would have to wait two years for another hearing.
